Welcome to the first ever Bay Cup Epee Team Tournament!
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The event is limited to 12 teams. It looks like we will have that filled.
The Bay Cup will provide prizes for the top 3 teams - Jamba Juice Gift Cards
The format of the event is as follows:
Well have 3 pools of 4 (for a total of 12 teams) and then a DE table of the top four seeds from pools. If only 10 teams show up then 1 pool of 4 and 2 pools of 3, or if 11, 2 pools of 4 and one of 3.
Assuming about an hour for each match, we anticipate that this pool round will take 3-4 hours. DEs should start around 2pm.
The top 4 teams will advance to the DE table. The top table of 4 will most likely take 2-3 hours. We will have the fence-off-for-third going concurrently with the finals.
All teams may be made up of men, women, or a combination, and may consist of 3 team members plus an optional alternate.
We only have space for 12 teams, you must complete registration (including payment) to be considered registered for the tournament.

Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams.

BAY CUP SERIES AND POINTS:
These events are not part of a Bay Cup series, so no points will be awarded.
ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:
Fencers competing must be current competitive members of USA Fencing.
These are senior age events; a fencer must have a birth year of 2001 or earlier or be on the National Junior point standings.
UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
All USA Fencing uniform requirements apply. This includes regulation fencing jacket and pants, underarm protector, knee socks, and a fencing glove that covers half the forearm. Women must wear chest protectors. Names are NOT required to be on the uniform.
Saber or foil masks with conductive material are not allowed for epee events.
Every competitor must have at least 2 weapons, 2 body cords next to the strip. All of the equipment must be in working order.
The lower edge of your jacket must overlap the knickers by at least 10cm when you are in the on-guard position.
Your knickers must be fastened below the knee.
With knickers, you must wear socks which cover the legs right up to the knickers. Your socks should stay up and have no holes.
Your mask must contain a horizontal safety strap at the rear of the mask, with the two ends of the strap firmly affixed to the two sides of the mask.
As of August 1, 2013, the blade wiring must not pass through the tunnel created by the socket and the metal plate. The referee must be able to visually inspect the entire length of the wires and its insulation. If your epee wiring does not conform the referee can issue a yellow card for equipment not working or not conforming.
On the strip, referees will be checking for a second weapon and body cord, underarm protectors, and chest protectors.
