SEEDING: Seeding shall be based on the current national rolling point standings within the letter ranking and year classification, then classification/year. Athletes with neither of the above are seeded on a random basis as unclassified "U". Seeding for Cadet Events will use National Cadet ranking within classification, then classification/year. TOURNAMENT FORMAT
  • All events will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations. Whenever possible, pools of 6 or 7 shall be used. Preference may be given to even pool distribution.
  • Junior/Cadet: DE bouts are 15 touch bouts (3 three minute periods with a 1 minute break between). Veteran: DE Bouts are 10 touch bouts (2 three minute periods with a 1 minute break between). During the 1 minute breaks, ONE person, designated by the fencer (a teammate, coach, or parent), may be on the strip with the fencer.
  • No fence off for 3rd place.
Points, classifications and qualifications are not finalized until complete results, membership forms and program service fees are received by the National Office. Fencers who earn a new classification during the tournament weekend may not use that classification for subsequent events of this tournament. Travel from Airport: There is not an airport shuttle to or from the venue. You must take a taxi or rent a car. We understand this is not an ideal situation, and we are hoping this tournament will become large enough to support the rental of a venue that is more accessible to those of you flying in from out of town. We will have the number to taxi service posted on this site shortly.
