Virginia Commonwealth Games 2014

The 2014 Commonwealth Games is the last open fencing tournament of the 2014 Season. Individual Events as well as mixed teams events, with unique Commonwealth Games medals for prizes (Gold Silver and Bronze only). $30 fee for Individual Events and $15 for Teams. Women's events will be competed if there are 6 fencers in a particular event. If there are not 6 fencers, the Women's event will be merged into the Men's event and it will become a Mixed Open event. All Team Events will begin once the corresponding open event(s) are finished. Teams can/should register in advance of the event, or they will be created the day of the tournament. Day of event Teams will be created by the Tournament organizers "evenly" based on the fencers ratings. This tournament is only open to members of the VA Division. Events Scheduled: Saturday -9:30am: Senior Men's Foil -9:30am: Senior Women's Foil (6 person min) -1:00pm: Mixed Team Foil (To Be Held after completion of Foil Events) Sunday -9:30am: Senior Men's Epee -9:30am: Senior Women's Epee (6 person min) -12:00am: Senior Men's Saber -12:00am: Senior Women's Saber (6 person min) -12:00pm: Mixed Team Epee (To Be Held after completion of Epee Events) -1:00pm: Mixed Team Saber (To Be Held after completion of Saber Events) ***** IF LESS THAN SIX WOMEN PRE-REGISTER FOR ANY WOMEN'S EVENT, THE EVENT WILL BE MERGED WITH THE MEN'S EVENT AND COMPETED AS A MIXED SANCTIONED EVENT. ***** ***** PRIZES AWARDED TO THIRD PLACE (Fence off for 3rd) ***** Preregistration opens on 03/26/2014.
