THE TENTH ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR LOUISIANA is presented by Caddo Bossier Foundation for Sword Sports and Shreveport Regional Sports Authority and is limited to middle or high school students (born 1997 or earlier) who reside or attend school in Louisiana. Because of this limitation by geographic border and age, the event is USFA sanctioned but not rated. Visit the FACEBOOK page for 2011 state champs. Saturday, February 5 8:00 - 8:30- Men's Epee 9:00 - 9:30-Women's Foil 12:30 - 1:00 Women's Sabre 1:30 - Former Champ Men's Epee, Former Champ Men's Sabre, Former Champ Women's Foil Sunday, February 6 8:00 - 8:30-Women's Epee 9:00 - 9:30-Men's Foil 11:00 - 11:30 Men's Sabre 12:00 - Former Champ Men's Foil , Former Champ Women's Epee, Former Champ Women's Sabre Epee Team ASAP following champ events VENUE: Caddo Magnet High School (Gym) 1601 Viking Drive SHREVEPORT, LA 71101 FEES Before JANUARY 24th - $30 registration and $10 per event ON JANUARY 24th - $40 registration and $10 per event AT THE DOOR fees begin on FEBRUARY 3rd - $50 registration and $10 per event PLEASE PRE-REGISTER. Pre-PAY is required and fees are calculated at time of payment. LATE FEES WILL BE IMPOSED ON JANUARY 24th. FORMER CHAMPS and TEAMS FENCE EXHIBITIONS FREE ( however, if you are also a current student, you will be required to pay registration and event fee for your regular 2010-2011 championship events) Format: One round of pools with 100% promotion to simple direct elimination. No ties broken for 3rd place. **Former Louisiana State High School Champions receive FREE ENTRY to fence in an exhibition round in your championship weapon(s). Memberships are available at the door. Membership AND informed consent forms for minors require the signature of a parent or legal guardian, the coach may not sign. Receipts from clubs or other tournaments are not acceptable, as these membership forms may not have been submitted. Membership and informed consent forms will be available at the venue. Payment for memberships is made directly to the USFA (bring separate checks for the tournament and membership). You are STRONGLY advised to have your membership card already in your possession before the tournament. Also you are STRONGLY advised that if you have not become a member 3 weeks prior to the event, please just do it at the door. Fencers are responsible for verifying information on all posted lists both prior to and during fencing. Fencers are required to fence in proper fencing attire; current USFA rules will apply. Equipment testing includes mask, lame, sabre glove, and cords. Please come early to ensure enough time to have equipment checked, and in the case of failure, enough time to find substitute equipment.
