This competition will serve as a first round qualifier for the main qualifying event in the big apple where the winner will go on to fence one of fencing’s greatest stars at Hammerstein Ballroom in front of 2,000 people. Jason Rogers (Olympic Silver Medalist 2008) will personally be in the house directing and presenting medals. Prizes include signed gear from the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games Here is how it works: As a participant in the qualifier you will receive: * a general admission ticket to the Fencing Masters NYC* * fencers who finish in the top 8 will receive an exclusive Fencing Masters NYC t-shirt* * the top mens and womens finishers will go on to fence in the Club Champion’s Tournament on Nov. 17, 2010 in New York during the Expo leading up to the round of 8 finals for the Fencing Masters NYC (Competitors in the 8: Montano, Lopez, Marti, O’Connell, Homer, Morehouse, Igoe and YOU?)* * all local winners will also be recognized on stage during the event* * Your entry also helps support the USA Olympic Team, as a portion of the proceeds will go towards a grant for Team USA hopefuls!* Events Scheduled: Senior Mixed Saber (Mens and Womens Combined) Preregistration opens on 09/04/2010.
