Escrimeur youth sabre cup 2022-2023 series orginized and run for girls and boys in Y8, Y10, Y12 and Y14 age groups. Skill levels: beginner to advanced. All events are USFA-sanctioned and maintained in accrodance with national and international fencing regulations and formats. To help beginner fencers stay at ease, we create and upkeep family friendly environment. Top 8 places get medals. All participants accumulate escrimeur youth cup points throughout the season. At the last event, cup champion (in each age group / gender) gets escrimeur youth cup trophy, top 3 fencers get really cool prizes. Plus all participants get escrimeur youth cup string bag & ribbon. It is located at the fields sports complex in east brunswick, nj. Spacious lobby, lounge, snack-bar, free wifi, free parking, vending machines with snacks and beverages. Conveniently located off south-bound cr 535 (cranbury road), the venue is within walking distance to convenience stores, medical offices and us post office. Entry This tournament is a USFA-sanctioned competition, open to fencers in y8, y10, y12 and y14 categories. Check age group corresponding to your child's birth year here: https://escrimeur.com/agegroups All fencers must wear USFA-required fencing attire (including above-the-knee fencing socks, 800n fie-approved sabre glove) and have 2 working weapons and 2 working body cord sets. Current valid USFA competitive or access membership is required. The objective is to provide youth (y8, y10, y12 and y14) fencers with a measured competitive fencing experience in a series of USFA-sanctioned tournaments with participants from a variety of fencing clubs and of various skill levels. Fencers will fence in y8, y10, y12 and/or y14 age groups of mixed or gender-separate event arrangements. Each participant will earn a certain number of escrimeur youth cup points at each event throughout the series. Calculations The maximum number of points (mxpnts) awarded per event will be based on the age group bracket and the size of event with 10 or more fencers: Age group mxpnts y8 50 y10 50 y12 100 y14 200 Points are prorated for events with fewer than 10 fencers by a factor of evntxratio: Evntxratio = nentrs / 10 Points earned at each event will be calculated as follows: ((nentrs - pl + 1) / nentrs) x mxpnts x evntxratio Thus, 1st place earns the maximum number of points, while all consecutive places will earn the corresponding number of points calculated using the formula above. Results with decimal points will be rounded up. Examples Y10 event with 10 fencers: 1 = 50 x 10/10 = 50 2 = 45 3 = 40 ... 10 = 5 Y12 event with 8 fencers: 1 = 100 x 8/10 = 80 2 = 71 3 = 60 ... 8 = 11 Total number of earned points for escrimeur youth cup series will be a sum of all points earned in each competition, bracketed by specific age group and weapon for those fencers who competed in multiple events within a tournament. Fees - $50 per event if registered and paid through askfred.net by midnight on sunday the week prior to the tournament; - $60 per event if registered and paid through askfred.net starting monday through midnight on saturday the week of the tournament; - $75 per event for walk-ins and fencers with unpaid online pre-registrations. Refund policy All payments are non-refundable. If you are not able to come we may issue credit towards our future events only if we are notified via email at tournaments@escrimeur.com at least 24 hours prior to the start of event. In case of an event cancellation or time/format change, we will issue a refund or credit towards future escrimeur tournaments. You will need to email your request to tournaments@escrimeur.com.
