Houston Sword Sports Brash Invitational

The Houston Sword Sports Brash Invitational is a three-weapon tournament to be held at the Brash Brewery in Houston, TX. One beer included with each registration. Beer for prizes. Must be 21 or older to enter. Events Scheduled: 21 & Over Mixed Epee: 11:00 AM 21 & Over Mixed Foil: 12:30 PM 21 & Over Mixed Saber: 2:00 PM Registration fee: $25 Event fee: $15 Walk-in registration: $20 FENCERS: Each event is capped at 21. You may enter as many events as you like. All fencers must be at least 21 years old. FREE BEER: Each entrant will receive one full-sized beer with paid registration. You will have to wait until you are eliminated from all events before you can begin to partake, though. GUESTS: Non-fencing guests can buy the beer of their choice directly from the bar. The venue will be open to the public all day, so it's a chance for us to show off our skills to an outside audience! There is no age restriction on guests. There will be no food trucks this year but we'll try to have food on hand. PRIZES: First place in each event wins three crowlers (growler-sized cans) of their choice of beer, second place wins two, and third place finishers win one. The best overall three-weapon result also wins three crowlers. VENUE: Brash Brewery is a large warehouse with a taproom on one end and beer-making on the other. We'll be in the middle. The brewery is not air-conditioned but is protected from sun and rain. COVID PRECAUTIONS: Masks will be required for all participants. Please do not come if you are sick. UNSANCTIONED: Due to the age restrictions, this will not be a sanctioned US Fencing event and no letter classifications will be awarded. Since we want all our favorite referees to fence, these events will be refereed out of pools - an unoccupied fencer will ref each bout. Preregistration opens on 01/08/2022.
