Join us for the 2020 FORCE FOIL. Format: One round of pools (5 touch bouts) with 100% promoted to a direct elimination (15-touch bouts). Entries are limited for safety reasons. Cost: $30/one event (for those pre-registered on ASKFRED) $45/two events (for those pre-registered on ASKFRED) $10/ additional spectator (each fencer allowed One free spectator). Coach may be admitted Free with Proof of USA Fencing Coaching Membership. All payments are collected at the door. Cash or checks payable to VANDERWEGE Academie d'Armes. NO-SHOWS will be place in the "NAUGHTY" file for making everyone's life difficult. UNRATED FOIL: Check in from 8:15-9:00 AM (requires USFA COMPETITIVE Membership or ONE-TIME use of Non-Competitive Membership) JUNIOR FOIL: Check in from Noon-1:00 PM (requires either USFA Competitve or Non-Competitive Membership) Pre-registration is CLOSED. We have reached our maximum number of entries. ALL FENCERS and SPECTATORS will be asked to follow COVID Protocols. Be prepared to wear a sanitation mask. Spectators will be limited to ONE PER FENCER. More details below. Awards to top 4 individual fencers. Possibility of Ratings to be earned in the UNCLASSIFIED FOIL. 2020 The FORCE FOIL Fencing Tournament COVID 19 Protocols Please note that the following protocols will be in effect for the November 7, 2020 FORCE FOIL Fencing Tournament. The organizers will need to limit the number of people (fencers, staff and guests) that may be in the venue at any given time. The meeting room has a “normal” capacity of 140 people. We will allow no more than 70 people in the venue. Each Fencer may have no more than ONE FREE GUEST accompanying them in the venue. Additional spectators will be charged $10 each. Any Coach showing a USA FENCING COACHING MEMBERSHIP, may be admitted free. Do not bring small children who may not be able to properly distance. Do not attempt to enter if you are experiencing any COVID 19 symptoms, or have been recently exposed to anybody else who may have symptoms, or has recently tested positive. You may be subject to a temperature test before being allowed to enter, and will be asked to sign a document stating you are free of symptoms and a positive test. Anyone experiencing a persistent cough will be asked to leave. You will also be required to provide contact information in the event we need to provide contact tracing. All people in the hotel and venue will be required to wear a mask (NOT the FENCING variety) per local ordinance. USA FENCING has also mandated everyone wear two layer cloth or surgical style mask whether they are fencing or not. No bandanas. Anyone refusing to comply will be removed from the building. We ask all people to observe social distancing (6 feet apart). We understand that this does not apply to immediate family members. Under no circumstance should a staff member or official be approached w/o permission. Participants should come dressed to compete. The bathrooms are NOT to be used for changing. Participants should bring their own water-bottles. The public drinking fountains will NOT be open. We anticipate having water and sports drinks available for sale. Officials will inform fencers of protocols for salutes, weapons testing, options for “hand-shakes”, non-contact verification of results and any other protocols deemed to keep everybody safe.
