Laid Back Thursday Night Epee Thing

This event is for FUN! We have sanctioned it, and set it up so that ratings can be earned... but our goal is more fencing and fun! WE WILL BE DONE BY 9PM! This is a sanctioned tournament that we hold one Thursday night each month. Super laid back - only fencers with Competitive Memberships will be allowed to fence in the event... but all fencers are welcome to come play! Fee is $10 at the door! Events Scheduled: Senior Mixed Sanctioned Epee Make sure you have your weapons and electric gear. If you need something, please let us know before you arrive... we will try to help! Be sure your membership is up to date! Our last event was a lot of fun... so we have decided to add to the excitement! We are going to start some "cumulative awards". Awards are not given at the end of each event, but awards will be given at the end of the season (in July). Points accumulated will be based on placement and the number of people competing in each event. This short season will be the accumulation of 7 tournaments worth of placements. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places as well as awards for most improved and a couple of superlative awards. Specific point accumulation information will be available at the event! Each tournament will be sanctioned and has the possibility of being rated, based on the number and ratings of the participating athletes. All clubs are invited to participate in these events and all fencers with competitive memberships are eligible for end of season awards. Orlando Fencing Club reserves the right to remove anyone from the events that isn't keeping with the spirit of the event. THESE EVENTS ARE FOR FUN! WE JUST WANT TO FENCE! These events are intended to get epee fencers from all over the area to play, practice and have some fun! While the bouting can get intense, we all need to play nice. We can't get into the gym until 6 PM... so, don't worry about early arrival. We will start fencing at 6:30. If you arrive late and we are able to slip you in, we will. If we can't... we will still have plenty of people for you to fence! We will not be using grounded strips, but we will have electric scoring - bring your body cords and electric epees!
