HAWAII OPEN 2019 Balmy weather. Beautiful venue. Great Fencing. Cash Prizes. https://www.hawaiifencingopen.com/ Aloha Fencers! Join us for the 2019 Hawaii Open. The Ala Wai Palladium, with eucalyptus hardwood floor, breathtaking vistas of the Ko’olau mountains and iconic Diamond Head, is easily one of the most beautiful venues to hold a fencing tournament in Hawaii. The 2019 Hawaii Open consists of four events: Mixed Open Foil, Mixed Open Epee, Mixed Vet Foil, and Mixed Vet Epee. Thanks to our generous donors, there will be cash prizes award for first place in all 4 events. The prize pool is set relative to the qualification level of each event. A rated event = $1000 B rated event = $500 C rated event = $250 This will be a USFA sanctioned tournament and ratings will be awarded according to the USFA classification chart. Current USFA competitive membership is required. USFA regulation uniforms please. (Names on jackets, lames, and knickers will not be required). Head referee: Charles Astudillo Registration: There is a cap of thirty (30) fencers per event. When the maximum number is reached the registration will be closed. Event fees: $20 tournament registration fee. $30 per single event. $50 for senior fencers competing in both events that day (Open and Vet). $20 per event for fencers 17 and under. Schedule of Events: Saturday, 03/30/2019 8:00 am - Doors Open 9:30 am - Open Mixed Foil 1:00 pm - Veteran Mixed Foil Sunday, 03/31/2019 8:00 am - Doors open 9:30 am - Open Mixed Epee 1:00 pm - Veteran Mixed Epee You will need:
  • Proof of USFA membership, FIE license, or foreign federation membership. If no membership provided, fencer has to complete and pay for USFA fencing membership at the door.
  • Signed waiver.
  • Proof of age, ID, passport, or USFA membership card.
  • Per event:
      2 functional weapons, 2 bodycords, 2 mask cord.
      Lame with NO dead spots (foil only)
      Gloves with no holes
      USFA regulation mask for foil or epee.
All events will be fenced as a single round of pools, 100% promoted to direct-elimination, no fence-off for third. Medals will be awarded to the top 4 overall finishers.
