Schedule of Events Saturday, October 20 3:00 Youth Mixed Foil Cancelled -- Youth Mixed Saber Sunday, October 21 Cancelled -- Youth Mixed Epee 10:30 Senior Mixed Foil 12:30 Senior Mixed Saber 2:30 Senior Mixed Epee Format This Swiss-format tournament will consist of multiple rounds of 10-touch bouts. There are no eliminations; all fencers will fence for the full duration of the event. Initial seeding will be determined by rating and name – same as for a regular-format tournament. In the second round, fencers with one victory will be paired up and fencers with one loss will be paired up. In the third round, fencers with two victories will face off, fencers with one loss and one victory will face off, and fencers with two losses will face off. BYEs will be counted as victories. If there are fewer than eight fencers in an event, there will be three rounds. If there are between nine and sixteen fencers in an event, there will be four rounds. Youth events are combined, allowing Y10, Y12 and Y14 fencers to compete. These events are open to birth years 2011-2004. These events are not sanctioned. Equipment All current USA Fencing equipment requirements will be enforced. Body cords, masks and gloves will be checked. Prizes Prizes will be Swiss themed: cheese and chocolate. Yum! Membership You must have at least a noncompetitive membership with USA Fencing to participate in the youth events. Senior events require a competitive membership. Preregistration opens on 09/20/2018. Preregistration closes on 10/18/2018.
