Note This is a Old AskFRED event. Registrations and results are all correct, but some other data could be missing.
Registration Closes at 11:59 the Wednesday before the event. Events Scheduled (close of registration) for Sunday, 9/23: Y12 Mixed Foil 9:00 am Y10 Mixed Foil 12:30 pm Y8 Mixed Foil 2:30 pm The above times are NOT start times! Events generally start fencing about 30 minutes after close of registration. First events of the day may start sooner. Doors open about 45 minutes before the close of registration for the first event. Fencers planning to fence two age groups are advised there may be some overlap between events (for example, you may have to fence some Y12 DE bouts during your Y10 pool if you're doing well in the Y12s). Directors are used to this and will not scratch your bouts if you're fencing in the other event; however, fencing in two events is your choice - please be ready to fence a few bouts in a row if need be to keep your events moving. Entry & Eligibility $45 pre-registered on AskFred. $65 walk-ins at the door (not signed up on Fred). We encourage you to pre-register. Cash/check only at the door; no credit cards accepted for entry fees. You must belong to USA Fencing or another FIE federation with proof of membership in order to compete. Join or renew at http://usfencing.org/us-fencing-membership. If you need to join the USA Fencing on-site, you will need a separate check or credit card # for their form. For the $25 one-day membership option, you MUST complete the membership online at usfencing.org ahead of time and bring your e-mail confirmation with you. National age eligibility requirements will be enforced; however, fencers with points in the next lower age category who do not otherwise meet age eligibility are allowed to fence; e-mail info@brooklyfencing.com to request addition to the competition. (For instance, a fencer with Y12 points will be allowed to fence Y14.) This is a USA Fencing and Metropolitan Division sanctioned event. Ratings will be awarded where earned. However, note that for youth events, a C or higher event rating is necessary for classifications to be earned. Competition Format One round of seeding pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination Events may be split into separate M/W if we have 6 fencers of both genders present for the same category.
