FRED Announces the Holiday Open Fencers must be competitive members of USA Fencing. Events are Y12 and under, Senior, and Teams. Proof of membership is required at the tournament; it is the fencer's responsibility to provide this proof. Fencers must have a signed waiver; minor fencers must have the signature of a parent or legal guardian on their waiver (not a coach). The waiver may be downloaded from the North Texas Division website: www.northtexasfencing.org Events will be fenced electronically. Proper fencing attire and equipment is required. Fees: $10 Registration per fencer $20 per event REFUND POLICY: Refund requests must be made prior to 12/20/17 at midnight central time. The registration fee is not refundable. The event fee will be refunded less FRED fees and postage. No refunds will be issued for event no-shows. Refunds will be processed within 2 weeks after the tournament. Birth Year Eligibility Y10/12 2005-2010 Senior 2004 or earlier Eligibility for events is determined by BIRTH YEAR, not age at time of participation. SPECIAL NOTE FOR FENCERS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIGHER AGE GROUP EVENT BY VIRTUE OF POSITION ON THE NRPS: At this time, askfred will not let you register and pay for an event for which you are not age eligible. If you are eligible to fence in an event by virtue of being on the NRPS in the next lower age category, please register and pay for the event in your weapon titled "National Points Qualification to Change" , and then email the organizers with the name of the athlete, and the events that need to be switched. Please verify your eligibility via NRPS BEFORE doing this! No refunds will be given for ineligible fencers who mistakenly enter an event. Please help us to process all of the registrations efficiently by paying for the different event before emailing the organizers. TOURNAMENT FORMAT All events will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations. Direct eliminations will be 15 touch bouts as these are senior and Y10/12 events (not Y10 events).
