Date: January 27-28, 2018 Venue Vango Toronto Fencing Center 980 Denison Street Markham, ON L3R 3K5 EVENT SCHEDULE Saturday January 27 8:30 Senior Men's Foil 9:30 Senior Women's Epee 11:30 Senior Men's Sabre 13:00 University Men's Foil 14:30 University Women's Epee 15:30 University Men's Sabre Sunday January 28 8:30 Senior Men's Epee 10:30 Senior Women's Foil 12:00 Senior Women's Sabre 13:30 University Men's Epee 15:00 University Women's Foil 15:30 University Women'S Sabre PRIZES SENIOR EVENT MEDALISTS WILL RECEIVE CASH PRIZES according to the following structure: GOLD: MINIMUM 20% Event Registration Fee SILVER: MINIMUM 10% Event Registration Fee BRONZE: MINIMUM 5% Event Registration Fee For example: events with 50 participants will guarantee cash prizes of at least $500, $250, and $125 for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists. PREREGISTRATION AND FEES: Pre-registration for events closes on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at midnight and is only accepted on AskFred. Registrations after January 23,2018 are considered late and face a doubling in fees per event. Late registration for the Team Events will be subject to availability. EVENT FEES Administrative fee of $10 plus $50 per SENIOR event and/or $30 per UNIVERSITY event if registration is received by January 23. 2018 at midnight. Registrations received after January 23 at midnight will incur double fees: $20 Administrative fee plus $100 per SENIOR event and/or $60 per UNIVERSITY event. All fees are to be paid at the door, CASH, CHEQUE OR DEBIT ONLY. NO CREDIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Cheques should be payable to "Vango Toronto Fencing Inc". COMPETITION AGE CATEGORIES Competition age categories will be enforced according to the CFF Age Category Definitions. Fencers must be at least 13 years of age as of December 31, 2017 to participate in the competition. https://www.fencing.ca/content/competition-age-categories COMPETITION FORMAT One round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination tableau. GENERAL INFORMATION The Vango Open is sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association and the Canadian Fencing Federation. Results from the SENIOR events will be submitted for CFF Domestic Ranking purposes. UNIVERSITY events are JFF (Just For Fun) and results will not be submitted for any ranking purposes. This competition will be run according to current FIE regulations. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to apply or modify these regulations as they see fit as according to section t.15 of the FIE Rules. All participants are required to have an active CFF Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant's home institute. You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation website in real time: http://fencing.ca/purchase-a-cff-licence/ USFA members must show a valid USFA membership card. Please enter your USFA membership number in the "CFF License" field. All fencers are REQUIRED to wear a sous plastron as well as fencing pants with long socks so that the legs are fully protected. Track pants will not be permitted as substitutions for fencing pants. All foil fencers are REQUIRED to have a conductive foil bib. Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks. Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
