Youths are invited to participate in the Cadet Events, and will have an additional tableau after the cadet tableau according to the results in the poules. Saturday February 25: 8:00 Senior Men's Epee 8:00 Cadet Men's Foil 9:00 Senior Women's Foil 9:00 Cadet Women's Epee 10:30 Senior Men's Foil 10:30 Cadet Men's Sabre 12:00 Senior Women's Epee 12:00 Cadet Women's Sabre 13:00 Cadet Women's Foil 13:00 Cadet Men's Epee 14:00 Senior Men's Sabre 15:00 Senior Women's Sabre PREREGISTRATION AND FEES: Pre-registration for individual events closes on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at midnight and is only accepted on AskFred. Registrations after February 22, 2017 are considered late and face a doubling in fees per event. EVENT FEES $50 per SENIOR and CADET event if registration is received by February 22, 2017 at midnight. Registrations received after February 22 at midnight will incur double fees for the events; $100 per SENIOR and CADET event. All fees are to be paid at the door, CASH or CHEQUE ONLY. NO CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Cheques should be payable to "Fencing at York". COMPETITION AGE CATEGORIES Competition age categories will be enforced according to the CFF Age Category Definitions. Fencers must be at least 13 years of age as of December 31, 2016 for SENIOR events, and at most 16 years of age as of Dec 31, 2016 for CADET events https://www.fencing.ca/content/competition-age-categories COMPETITION FORMAT Individual events: One round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination tableau. GENERAL INFORMATION The 2017 York Open is sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association and the Canadian Fencing Federation. Results from SENIOR and CADET events will be submitted for CFF Domestic Ranking purposes. Youth events are JFF (Just For Fun) and results will not be submitted for any ranking purposes. This competition will be run according to current FIE regulations. This includes the immediate return to a 4m en-garde line separation for Senior Sabre events. Cadet Sabre events will remain with the 3m en-garde line until after March 2017. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to apply or modify these regulations as they see fit as according to section t.15 of the FIE Rules. All participants are required to have an active CFF Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant's home institute. You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation website in real time: http://fencing.ca/purchase-a-cff-licence/ USFA members must show a valid USFA membership card. Please enter your USFA membership number in the "CFF License" field. All fencers are REQUIRED to wear a sous plastron as well as fencing pants with long socks so that the legs are fully protected. Track pants will not be permitted as substitutions for fencing pants. All foil fencers are REQUIRED to have a conductive foil bib. Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks. Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
