AFB - July Summer Camp 1

Academies of Fencing will be offering a series of 3 Weapon day camps during the summer. Two camps will be offered each month. June 20th - 24th June 27th - July 1st (Pre-Nationals Camp) July 11th - 15th July 18th - 22nd Aug 1st - 5th (Tokyo Olympian Camp) Aug 8th - 12th This will be an excellent opportunity for fencers to engage in an immersive practice experience - and use their summers to commit towards excellence. We have six camps which can be attended for full weeks, individuals days, or as part of multi-week packages at lower cost. June Week 2 will focus on tournament preparation both for fencers going to Nationals and for fencers looking to prep for circuit events in the new season. This camp will still be appropriate for fencers of all levels. August Week 1 will include us hosting Maria Luisa Doig Calderon. Maria competed foil in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and epee in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. She is currently ranked 28th in the world and spent most of last season in the top 50 in the world. These special weeks can be included in discount multi-week bundles Fencers will begin the day with warm ups and conditioning and then proceed into a variety of fencing activities. Each Day of Camp will include: Footwork, Bladework, Bouting, Conditioning Games Over the series of camp weeks we will also rotate these additional topics and skills Refereeing Armoring Coaching Tactics Strategy Work Out Planning Nutrition Stress Management College Planning and Admissions Team Competitions Goal Setting and Evaluation Video Analysis The camp will be very focused and active, fencers should come prepared and have two water bottles with them. The cost of the camp is $385 for the full camp or $85 for a single day. (Non-member cost, $485 for the full camp or $110 for a single day). Breakfast, Snack and Lunch are included. Tokyo Olympic Camp will cost $435 for the full camp or $95 for a single day. (Non-member cost, $535 for the full camp or $120 for a single day). Breakfast, Snack and Lunch are included.
