3 Weapons Referee Clinic by Rylan Delap

Orlando Fencing Academy is hosting 3 Weapons clinic with FOC Certified Referee Instructor and Intl FIE referee Rylan Delap for a day of referee training and testing. The clinic runs 9am-5pm with a lunch break, and will include practice with live fencing and a video replay system. Preregistration opens on 05/28/2019. Preregistration closes on when the participants hit the max number of 20 Cost is $100 for Orlando Fencing Academy Member and $120 for non-member. Limited to 20 participants. Rylan Delap has been refereeing for over 13 years and is well known by the national/international fencing community. He grew up in Birmingham, AL before getting recruited to fence on the Penn State Varsity national championship fencing team with multiple Olympians. He referees at the international level and is considered one of the top US fencing officials. Rylan is now the chairman of the Alabama division for US Fencing and the president of the Southeast region for the United States Fencing Coaches Association. Rylan wants to considerably improve the access to fencing in the southeast region, which is why he became a certified referee instructor and started two fencing clubs in Alabama. Rylan's seminars cover all of the weapons in fencing, but his teaching discussions lean heavily on covering right-of-way in depth. Rylan currently helps hire, train, and observe referees at both the regional and national level. ========================ABOUT ORLANDO FENCING ACADEMY========================= Our fencing gym features custom 4 FIE Grounded Strips. Our facility includes a classroom with Wi-Fi, and locker rooms.
