Fencing Clinic at Fairfax Fencers Club

Hosted by Dr. Castilla McNamara- a member of both the USFCA and N.American Mangioratti Society. Instruction via the Livio DiRosa method focusing on our natural learning processes for fencing improvement. Dr. McNamara has been coaching foil, epee, and saber since 2010. As a professional certified coach under U.S. Fencing Coaches Association and North American Mangiarotti Society, she works with Y12 – Vet 70+ students. Her first student earned a foil rating in 2012, earned an epee rating in 2015, and became a Vet 70 national medalist in all 3 weapons later. Her youngest foil student started competing in April 2017, fenced at the Y12 and Y14 Summer National Championships in 2018, earned a rating in a senior event in September 2018, and is currently preparing for the Junior Olympics in 2019. Dr. McNamara is Safe Sport trained, liability insured, and certified in Basic Life Support. She is a captain of multi -weapon team “Rocking Geriatrics” and was featured in Rockville Maryland city TV, Meet Your Neighbors. Outline Introduction: Too many schools. Too many methods.
