RDF Youth Epee Camp with Gary Copeland

Red Door Fencing is hosting a youth epee day camp led by Gary Copeland of Northern Colorado Fencers. Fencers will spend three days increasing their technical and tactical skills with drills and bouting. When: Wednesday, July 18th - Friday, July 20th Camp begins each morning at 9:00am and is available for ages 8-16. We will break for lunch at noon; younger fencers (ages 8-12) will head home for the day. Teenage fencers may stay on for the afternoon session, which ends at 3:00pm. Where: Red Door Fencing 220 E 3rd St Des Moines, IA 50309 Cost: $75 for the morning, $100 for the full day. Camp is open to epeeists between the ages of 8 and 16. Fencers should bring a water bottle and all of their own fencing equipment. Lunch is not provided, so please bring a packed lunch. About Gary Copeland: Founder and head coach of Northern Colorado Fencers since 1979. Gary has coached more than 800 U.S. national competition finalists (1st-8th place) since 1988, including 46 individual U.S. national champions, 14 U.S. national team champions, and 64 junior and cadet World champions and Pan-American team positions. Gary was named 1999 U.S. Olympic Committee Fencing Coach of the Year and has served as U.S. National Team coach on more than 20 U.S. national teams. Preregistration opens on 04/30/2018.
