Lilov Fencing Academy welcomes all fencers and parents to a seminar with the head coach of Columbia University and the Chairman for the New York Athletic Club, Michael Aufrichtig! You may talk to anyone but there is no substitute to a face-to-face contact with the head coach of one of the best NCAA fencing programs. LOCATION: Lilov Fencing Academy, 9 Sand Park Rd, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 The seminar starts at 2PM on Saturday, June 2nd About Michael Aufrichtig: Michael Aufrichtig completed his seventh year as the head men’s and women’s fencing coach for Columbia University. During his seven years, the men’s team record was 115-45 and women’s 165-24. Columbia’s Men and Women’s Team finished the 2015 and 2016 season ranked #1 winning the NCAA Championships as well as winning the Men Ivy Championships (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and Women Ivy League Championships (2015, 2016, 2018). Columbia Has remained on top the past two seasons finishing 3​rd​ (2017 NCAA) and 2​nd (2018 NCAA). Michael Aufrichtig is the recipient of the 2016 USA Fencing Coaches Association Varsity Coach of the Year Award. Michael is the Chairman for the New York Athletic Club Fencing Program from 2007 to present. During that time the NYAC has won 20 Individual and 20 team National Championships, fielded 37 USA World Team Members, 11 Olympians, capturing two bronze one silver and one gold world team medals and one bronze Olympic team medal. This year NYAC is set to qualify 8 of the 24 USA World Team Members. Michael was on the USA Fencing Board of Directors form 2014-2016, was the 2012 USA Olympic Fencing Coach for Modern Pentathalon and served as the 2009 USA Women’s Epee World Team Coach.
