This is an official referee clinic that is required for any prospective USA Fencing referee. Practical exams in all weapons will be given following the clinic. Given by Lisa Campi-Sapery, "The Fencing Referee" YouTube: https://goo.gl/CHKTus Facebook: https://goo.gl/9u8Kkr Referee Experience: * FIE B rated referee in all 3 weapons - one of 9 women in the world * Referee at Veteran World Championships in 2015, 2017 * Referee at Junior/Cadet Pan American Championships in 2017 * Domestic referee for 30 years Current member of USA Fencing Referee Commission: * Referee Development Committee * Domestic Assignments Committee * Ombudsman About the Referee Clinic The Referee Clinic will provide you with a broad understanding of the role, responsibilities, and duties of a referee, as well as refine your sense of right-of-way, timing, and application of the penalties. Attending an official RC-sanctioned clinic is a prerequisite for becoming a certified USA Fencing referee, along with successful completion of a written exam. Once a passing score (90%) has been achieved on the written exam (both the general section and one or more weapon-specific sections) a referee receives a "P" rating. Once you have taken the seminar and passed the written exam, you can be evaluated for a numeric rating (1-10) at a tournament. Doors open at 8:00, seminar run 8:30-3:00. Practical exams will be offered after the seminar, beginning around 3:30. Seminar fee $75.00 in advance, $85.00 at the door. $10 additional if you want to take the practical.
