Whether you're a parent, athlete, or coach, it's to your advantage to know how touches are scored. We'll teach the basics of foil refereeing, as well as work on troubleshooting what can go wrong with fencing equipment.
After this clinic, attendees should be able to competently referee foil bouts and diagnose trouble on strip.

Darius Wei is the assistant coach responsible for the foil squads at Duke University, and head foil coach at Research Triangle Fencing. His students have won national championships and represented Team USA at international events. Darius is also a nationally-active referee and referee educator, having worked as a Certified Referee Examiner for the Fencing Officials Commission of USA Fencing.
Kathy Walters is one of the country's top armorers. She has served as the armorer for our World Championship teams, ACC and NCAA Championships.
