9am - 3pm This clinic will focus on the first stage of the competitive period and the pre-competitive stage. We will work on specific speed and endurance skills for fencing. There will be drills on technical, tactical and mental preparation.

IFC Pre-Competitive Clinic Objectives: Each sport season includes periods of general preparation, a competitive period and a transitional period. Our second clinic for the season is designed to address the pre-competitive stage. It will focus on the first stage of the competitive period. We will work on specific speed and endurance skills for fencing. There will be drills on technical, tactical and mental preparation. Individual lessons may also be available. Cost $95 for day; $80 for IFC members. Space is currently limited to 12 persons. Schedule: 9:00 a.m. - 9:10 a.m. - Introduction 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Specifics of the per-competitive stage. 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. - Activities: Footwork and specific speed exercises for fencing. 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Lunch 12:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. - Mental preparation. 1:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Tournament, partner drills, and individual lessons. What to bring: Two t-shirts, towel, water bottle, and your fencing equipment, including weapons, uniform, and mask. Sport drinks and snacks will be provided. Bring your lunch. Taught by Ina Harizanova, Psy.D. Ina has coached fencing for over 15 years in the US. Her students (individual and team) have competed and won multiple medals at the international and national tournaments, achieved A-ratings and continued on to fence in college.
