This is a North Dakota Fencing Association circuit event (the 2nd of the 4 events held during each Aug 1 to July 31 season) to bring fencers together for a fun, non-USFA, electric fencing tournament. These fencing events are open to everyone.

---------- EVENT SCHEDULE ---------- Saturday, January 21, 2012 Mixed Foil - 10:00AM * All times are close of registration. Please arrive early to get your equipment checked during check-in. * We will be running on a strict schedule so your promptness is much appreciated. * All events will be fenced as a single round of pools with 100% promoted to direct-elimination, no fence-off for third. ---------- REGISTRATION INFORMATION ---------- Entry fee is $15.00. * Preregister by clicking on the link above. * Entry fees are payable at check-in, with cash or by check (made out to: Clay Willoughby). * Registration fees are non-refundable. ---------- VENUE INFORMATION ---------- The event will be held at: Carrington High School Main Gym 100 3rd Avenue South Carrington, ND, 58421 (701) 652-3136 (701) 306-0815 * Free parking is available. ---------- TOURNAMENT RULES ---------- * This is a non-USFA fun tournament. No membership of any kind is required. * Fencing uniform is required, including regulation mask, jacket, lame, glove, and non-marking shoes. * For this event, a mask with a lame bib is NOT required for foil, so "standard" masks may be used. * Fencers may wear masks with a lame bib, but they may not use tape to cover the conductive part (for safety reasons). * Names are NOT required on jackets or lames. * All bouts will be self-refereed; experienced fencers who are not fencing at the time, and who are comfortable with refereeing bouts in a given weapon, may referee. * The tournament will have a BEGINNERS division and a NON-BEGINNERS division. * BEGINNERS are those fencers who have fenced three tournaments or less. * Fencers in both divisions will fence with each other normally in pools and DEs, but will be awarded medals based on their final ranking as compared with others in their own division. ---------- PRIZES---------- * Medals will be awarded to all 4 finalists in both the BEGINNERS division and the NON-BEGINNERS division. ---------- EQUIPMENT CHECK ---------- * Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. * Mask inspections and punch tests will be conducted during check-in. ---------- NEARBY HOTELS ---------- Carrington features two hotels for lodging: * The Chieftain (701-652-3131). * The Carrington Inn and Suites (701-652-3982). ---------- FOR MORE INFORMATION ---------- * Please contact Jason Schoenack (701 306 0815) at jaschoen@microsoft.com. * Or visit the North Dakota Fencing Association website at http://ndfencing.org.
