Walk-ins will only be accepted if there is a no-show from a pre-registered fencer at the check-in close time. Walk-ins may arrive as early as one hour before the check-in close time to get in line for a spot. All walk-ins are first come, first served basis. Walk-ins must appear in person. Walk-ins may *not* e-mail or phone ahead of time to get on the walk-in list. Pre-registered fencers *cannot* designate a different fencer to take their spot.
You may cancel your pre-registration anytime via AskFred, or you can e-mail us *before the close of pre-registration* and we can remove it. If you pre-register and do not attend (regardless of reason) you will be warned. If you pre-register and do not attend a 2nd time, your pre-registrations will no longer be accepted at Maryland Fencing Club tournaments for the next 12 months. If this happens you are still welcome to do a walk-in registration (see above).
We have a small club. We will only run two strips at a time, so if there are more than two pools in the first round, it will be double-flighted and could take 3 to 3.5 hours to complete. The average 20+ fencer tournament takes about 6 to 7 hours to complete.
Maryland Fencing Club is located at 3011 Emmorton Road in Abingdon, MD.
Directions: From I-95 (north of Baltimore) take exit 77, Route 24 north towards Bel Air. Turn right on Route 924, Emmorton Road. After the 2nd light, look to the right. After Giant supermarket, then Boyle Pontiac, see signs for The Greenery, Rita's Water Ice, and Maryland Fencing Club. Turn right into parking lot in front of the Greenery.
