The NMO is the premier event for the New Mexico Division of the Rocky Mountain Section. It is hosted this year by the New Mexico Fencing Foundation at the Santa Fe Prep School. Venue: Santa Fe Prep School 1101 Camino De Cruz Blanca Santa Fe NM 87505 This venue is a little difficult to find so please stop by Friday evening so you won't have troubles in the morning. Refer to the map on this website for directions. Fencers should also consider packing snacks because there are no convenient fast food locations close to the venue. However, if you exit from an earlier event and wish to fence in an event that has not yet started, you may register late without penalty. Cost: Tournament Registration: $30 Weapon Event Fee $30 Event payment is made during registration. Fencers must show up and register prior to each event entered. Pre-registration on this website closes at midnight November 10th. Entries after this date will incur a penalty of $30. No breakfast. Format: Top 16 epee and foil to fence on grounded strips. Medals for top eight finished. FIE 100% advance to Direct Elimination with no repechage. Modifications to the format are at the discretion of the tournament chairman. USFA Membership and Rules: Fencers must be able to show proof of membership. The USFA can fax proof of membership for those waiting for a new card. USFA membership forms will be available at the tournament. Minors will need the signature of a parent or guardian (not a coach) on the membership form. If you do not have proof of membership, you will be required to complete and pay for at least a one year membership with payment made directly to the USFA. Participants are required to fence in proper attire, and all USFA rules will be applied.
