Preregistration closes on 05/01/2009. INDIVIDUAL EVENT FEE: $20.00 As required by Division Bylaws, there will be a meeting of the membership of the South Division Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 9:00 A.M., at which the Division elections for 2009-2010 will occur. Details of the meeting of the Division will be made available as the tournament nears. The venue will open 8:00 AM. DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIPS Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of “C”, “D”, “E”, or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND born no later than 1995* AND • Place in the top 25% of the 2009 Division Qualifying competition • Qualified for D1A and meet the classification criteria for Division II (C or below) (BOD, 9/06) * If a fencer is listed in a National age group rolling point standing at the entry deadline, the fencer may enter the next older age category of competition, even if that fencer is younger than allowed by the age bracket. DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS • Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of “D”, “E”, or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND have been born no later than 1995* AND • Place in the top 25% of the total number of “D, “E” or “U” fencers competing in the 2009 Division’s Division II Qualifying competition OR • If separate Division III qualifying competition is held by the Division, then the top 25% of the field will qualify for Division III National Championships • Qualified for Division II and meet the classification criteria for Division III (D, E, or U) (BOD 9/08) * If a fencer is listed in a National age rolling group point standing at the entry deadline, the fencer may enter the next older age category of competition, even if that fencer is younger than allowed by the age bracket. UNDER-16 CHAMPIONSHIPS Fencers must be born between 1993 and 1996* AND • Be on the Under-16 point standings as of May 1, 2009 OR • Place in the top 25% of the Division’s U16 qualifying competition OR • By Board action, any fencer who has qualified for the Under-19 National Championships becomes an automatic qualifier for the Under-16 Championships (BOD, 10/04) OR • Be in the Top 8 of the Youth 14 rolling point standings as of May 1, 2009 * If a fencer is listed in a National age group rolling point standing at the entry deadline, the fencer may enter the next older age category of competition, even if that fencer is younger than allowed by the age bracket. YOUTH 14 CHAMPIONSHIPS Fencers must have been born between 1994 and 1997* AND • Be on the Youth 14 rolling point standings as of May 1, 2009 OR • Place in the top 25% of the Division Youth 14 Qualifying competition OR • By Board action, any fencer who has qualified for the Under-19 National Championships becomes an automatic qualifier for the Under-14 Championships (BOD, 10/04) * If a fencer is listed in a National age group rolling point standing at the entry deadline, the fencer may enter the next older age category of competition, even if that fencer is younger than allowed by the age bracket.
