4th Veteran's Melee

This tournament is part of the Southwest Region Veteran's Circuit. This is the SVCC #3 for the 2008-9 season. Please note that this tournament will be fenced at our new facility: San Antonio Fencing Center / Salle Pouj 14034 Nacogdoches Rd San Antonio, TX 78247-1929 http://maps.google.com/maps Events will be fenced Mixed Veteran Combined if less than 6 pre-registrants or registrants for each gender are present. If the pre-registrants are at least 6 for each gender, the events will become gender-specific (i.e.: Women's Epee and Men's Epee), otherwise, the events will remain as Mixed Veteran combined. USFA rules will apply. Current USFA registration is required. Cost: Pre-Registration: $35.00 (one event) and $ 5.00 each additional weapon. Registration at the Door: $50.00 (one event) plus $10.00 each additional weapon. Close of Registration for Events Scheduled: Vet Combined Mixed Epee - 11:30 am Vet Combined Mixed Foil - 8:30 am Vet Combined Mixed Saber - 3:00 pm FORMAT: Pools of 5 or greater (up to 9) - if only 5 or less fencers a 2nd round of pools would be added before seeding for DEs. 100% promotion to DEs. 3rd place will fence off. Preregistration closes on 01/23/2009. Please note that changed the date of this tournament from 1/10/09 to 1/24/09 due to the subsequent selection of 1/10 for the Houston SSCC tournament. If the Pouj Memorial is held on 1/24, then the Melee would be on 1/31/09.
