NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGE! We will be in the EAST Field House Gym, not the West Field House as in past years! Directions are here: http://maps.ucsc.edu/cdeastfield.html Park in the East Remote parking lot (parking is free).
NOTICE: if you arrive after 10:00 am on either day, you will need to get a day pass for the recreation complex from the attendant at the entrance! Tell them you are with the fencing tournament.
Also please note that the event closing times are PRELIMINARY at the moment. We will be sending out email when they are finalized. Thanks!

PREREGISTRATION CLOSED, BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER AT THE DOOR
April 8, 2008: Prereg on FRED is closed, but you can still register at the door. If you want to make sure you get in to the event, make sure you show up early!
NO SABRE EVENT THIS YEAR
March 25, 2008: We will not be hosting a sabre event this year due to limited space in the East Field House and a lack of qualified sabre directors. Please contact the tournament director (paul@obscure.com) if you have any questions.

LIMIT ON REGISTRATION
We have limited the number of fencers who can register for each event as we will only be able to set up eight strips in the East Field House (and even eight will be crowded). Please sign up early! We don't expect to have to turn people away, but it is better to sign up now and secure your spot!
Fee Schedule for 2008:
Registration fees:
preregistered on FRED: $40 per fencer for the first event, $25 for each additional event.
at the door: $45 per fencer for the first event, $30 for each additional event
All fees are collected at checkin. Cash and checks are accepted. You are considered preregistered if you sign up for this tournament on FRED or email paul@obscure.com.
Please be sure you have a current USFA membership card or other proof of membership and a photo ID. Membership applications will be available.
Salle Santa Cruz strives to keep our fees as low as possible for the Boardwalk Open. This year we are discounting the event fee by $5 for fencers who sign up online prior to the tournament. If you have any questions about preregistration, please contact the tournament director (paul@obscure.com).
Tournament Format
All events are a single round of pools followed by 100% promotion to DEs. No fence-off for third.
We will not be performing mask and lame checks. Standard on-strip equipment checks will be made.
