This is the FINAL event in the 2007-08 NJFA Youth Cup Series. Great tournament experience whether your're pursuing Cup prizes or not. DOUBLE POINTS AWARDED TODAY!! All youth events held from September 2007 through June 2008 were eligible for Youth Cup prizes. Cup points were awarded for first 5 places in each event. Points were cumulative and prizes will be awarded today to top 3 point finishers in each event. This event is sanctioned by the NJ Division of the USFA and ratings can be awarded; however youth events do not use the E1 or D1 classifications; this means that these events are NR until they achieve a C1 level or higher. ** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by NJFA. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA and its sponsors, NJFA, and referees from any liability. With entry you give consent to NJFA to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. ** You must have valid USFA membership - you MUST show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made. You may join at the door (parent signature required)however please arrive with a completed form or plan to come early to complete the necessary paperwork. Please have separate checks made out to USFA or use your credit card for USFA payment. All fencers must wear required fencing attire and bring at least 2 working weapons and 2 working body cords. NOTE: If you are fencing in a Y8/10 event - you must have a #2 or #0 blade... Fencers must meet USFA birth year requirements. 2007-08 USFA Birth Year Eligibility: *Y8 = 1999-2001; *Note, Y8 is not a USFA category and is not sanctioned. It is for fun and practice, and participation is at parent discretion. Y10 = 1997-2000 Y12 = 1995-1998 Y14 = 1993-1996 An athlete on the national rolling points list at the time of this event may fence in the next higher age bracket, i.e. a fencer on the current Y12 points list may fence Y14. If your entry is rejected for age, contact us and we will handle your entry. FEES $10 registration fee and $25 per event if preregistered and paid through FRED. Registration fee is NONREFUNDABLE. Event fee is refundable if request received by midnight, June 26, 2008. $10 registration fee and $30 per event if preregistered and pay at the door. $10 registration fee/$35 per event if walk-in without preregistration. Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only. CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. EVENTS SCHEDULED (close of check-in): Fencing begins appx. 30 minutes after close of check-in. Initial seeding using National Youth Points. Only official USFA points and ratings will be used. One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. Fence-off for third place. Cup Prizes awarded today. Medals awarded out to 3rd place. LOCATION New Jersey Fencing Alliance is located at 50-58 Burnett Avenue (use 54 Burnett Avenue for Mapquest); Maplewood, NJ. NJFA is conveniently located near all major highways in NJ, NY, CT, and Pennsylvania and only 1.5 miles from the Maplewood Train Station (NJ Transit).
