BlackStack Back Stab

The BlackStack Back Stab is a three-weapon FUNdraising randomized team tournament for MN Division Fencing! It is held at BlackStack Brewery in St. Paul, MN. One beer included with each registration. 1st place prizes provided by BlackStack, 2nd and 3rd place pick from the Box o' Fun. Must be 21+ to compete. Proceeds from this event will help provide nationally rated referees for the Minnesota Open in May. This is also the first day of Daylight Saving Time so set your clocks ahead an hour before you go to bed. Events Scheduled: 11:30am - 21 & Over Mixed Randomized Team Foil 2:00pm - 21 & Over Mixed Randomized Team Epee 4:00pm - 21 & Over Mixed Randomized Team Saber Registration: First event: $30 Additional events: $15 Registration must be pre-paid through the division website at: http://mndivfencing.org/product-category/blackstack-registration/ Once payment is received, we will approve you as registered on askFRED. Registration is non-refundable but is transferable. If paying for more than one person or for someone else, please leave a note in the order notes so we can approve registrations on askFRED. FENCERS: Each event is capped at 15 due to limited space and all fencers must be 21 years old. What is a randomized team event? We will be assigning random teams day-of and fencing a direct elimination bracket. You may enter as many events as you like. FREE BEER: Each entrant will receive one full-sized beer with paid registration. You will have to wait until you are eliminated from all events before you can begin to partake though. Additional beer tokens can be purchased from Bout Committee and a portion will go to MN Div Fencing. You can also purchase beer directly from BlackStack too, but we prefer you help us out too. GUESTS: Non-fencing guests can buy the beer of their choice directly from the bar but, even better, they can buy a token from Bout Committee and a portion of those tokens will go to MN Div Fencing! BlackStack is open to the public all day, so it's a chance to show off our skills to an outside audience! Those under 21 are welcome to spectate as well, but are not allowed to partake in the beer. There is also water, La Croix, and pop available. PRIZES: First place in each event wins prizes provided by BlackStack. Second and Third places will pick from the Box 'o Fun! VENUE: BlackStack Brewery is in a shared warehouse space with several other businesses. In their space, the bar runs through the center with brewing behind and lots of seating in front. We will have one end of the brewery with 2-3 strips and Bout Committee. Fun fact: the head brewer is a fencer! UNSANCTIONED: Due to the age restrictions, this will not be a sanctioned US Fencing event and no letter classifications will be awarded.
