NJFA 4th ANNUAL STEVE SOBEL TOURNAMENT All Weapons - Open (Senior)Events - Senior refers to birth years 1994 and before. This is a New Jersey Division of the USFA-sanctioned event and ratings can be awarded. This event is also designated as part of the New Jersey Cup and Cup points will be awarded. Medals awarded to top 8 places. Valid USFA membership is required. You MUST show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made. You may join at the door, however please arrive with a completed form (parent signature required for fencers under age 18)or plan to come early to complete required paperwork. Please have separate checks made out to USFA or use your credit card for your USFA membership payment. All fencers must meet USFA birth year requirements. All fencers must have birth years 1994 or before. Fencers must be at least 13 years old as of January 1 of the fencing season or be on the current Senior National Points list. The fencing season is the same as the membership year, August 1 through the following July 31. All fencers must wear required fencing attire and bring at least 2 working weapons and 2 working body cords. FEES Preregistration $20 registration fee (nonrefundable)and $20 per event. PREREGISTRATION CLOSES SATURDAY, Sept 29, 2007, after which late fees apply. Registration fee is nonrefundable. Event fee is refundable if request is received prior to midnight Friday, September 28, 2007. Late fees will be $20 registration fee and $30 per event, payable at the door. Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only. CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. TOURNAMENT FORMAT One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. No fence-off for third place. LOCATION New Jersey Fencing Alliance is located at 50-58 Burnett Avenue (use 54 Burnett Avenue for Mapquest); Maplewood, NJ. NJFA is conveniently located near all major highways in NJ, NY, CT, and Pennsylvania NJFA is only 1.5 miles from the Maplewood Train Station (call ahead or e-mail no later than Friday, Sep 28 (973-224-3448) or e-mail c.delaney1@verizon.net and NJFA will provide free shuttle service from and to the train. NJFA is a state-of-the art 17,000 sf fencing salle; it offers 18 grounded metal strips with machines located in the middle as well as repeater lights at each end. NJFA additionally offers free Internet service as well as 230 on-site FREE parking spaces.
