Brooklyn Fencing Foil Over 20 & Over 30

For fencers who have aged out of Juniors... we're trying out a 20-and-up age category and a 30-and-up age category. Fencers must be born 1994 or prior for 20+ and 1984 or prior for 30+. AskFred does not currently allow us to filter out younger fencers; however, anyone signing up born 1995 or later will not be allowed to fence. The winner (if 21) will get a bottle of wine. Events Scheduled (close of registration): Senior Men's Foil Over 20 10 am Senior Women's Foil Over 30 10 am Senior Women's Foil Over 20 12:30 pm Senior Men's Foil Over 30 12:30 pm $30 per event pre-registered; fencers may also register at the door for $40. Please bring cash or check; NO CREDIT CARDS accepted for entry fees. Preregistration opens on 09/29/2014. Preregistration closes at 10 PM on 11/07/2014. ** Because these are unofficial age grouping, this is an unsanctioned event (no classification changes may be awarded). However, for insurance purposes, you must have a current USA Fencing membership (non-competitive $10 membership is fine!) and everything else will be run as if it were a regular sanctioned event (underarm protectors, bib masks, etc required) Events are anticipated to start 30 minutes after close of registration. First events may start sooner. Bring your USA Fencing card or be ready to register at the door. No credit cards accepted for tournament entry fees. Foreign fencers must bring a current membership card from their federation. Conductive bib mask is required for foil. Come prepared. NO REFUNDS! If you pay online and are unable to fence, please notify us via e-mail by noon on Sat 11/8 to receive credit for a future event. Event format: one round of seeding pools, 100% promotion to DEs. NEW LOCATION 600 Degraw Street (between 3rd & 4th Ave) - Closest train is the R at Union Street, three blocks away. PARKING INFO: If you have trouble finding street parking (which you may not, we're just covering the bases), the closest Union Street parking lot is closed; however, there are several lots on 4th Ave south of Degraw and one on Union Street between 6th & 7th Aves (http://nycparking.spplus.com/Brooklyn-798-800-Union-Street.html#Tab_coupon-rates). You can also park at the Atlantic Center http://www.ggmcparking.com/locations/details/atlantic-center and either walk 8 blocks or take the R one stop.
