Beat the Heat Open @ Mid-South FC

Beat the Heat Open Come beat the heat and join the advanced campers at the Mid-South Fencers' Club. This is the first event of the 2014-2015 season. It's time to shake off rust from Nationals, show off any new skills you've learned from camp, and figure out what you need to work on before the qualifying season begins. Cost: $25/1st event, $15/subsequent events Entry is included for participants in the Advanced Foil/Saber Camp (sign up here: http://bit.ly/1nDrLey) Schedule: Mixed Open Foil / Y-14 Saber - 9am Mixed Open Saber / Y-14 Foil - 1pm Note: Athletes may only participate in one event starting at the same time. An athlete may fence Open Foil & Saber or Open Foil & Y-14 Foil, but not Open Foil & Y-14 Saber Format: The Y-14 events will be a standard USFA pools + DEs format. Open events will be run using the USFA-approved Sharks + Minnows format, description at http://duke.dariuswei.com/Sharks_Minnows.pdf - classifications WILL be awarded for this event Age Eligibility: Open : Born in 2001 or earlier Y-14 : Born in 2000-2003 Referee Development: A Certified Referee Examiner will be on staff during this event.
