Non HoF members can win fencing gift cards. Due to allowing non-competitive members, USFA ratings cannot be awarded. This competition is open to any and all USFA Non-Competitive & Competitive members, and will feature several different age categories. The Club Championships will run throughout the 2014/15 fencing season, with competitions being held every other month. Athletes will accumulate points based on their performances, and in June of 2015 we will crown our 2014/15 men's and women's Club Champions! The competition categories will be as follows: Y10 (2004-2007) Y12 (2002-2005) Y14 (2000-2003) Cadet (1998-2001) Junior (1995-2001) Open (2001 or earlier) Veterans (1975 or earlier) Our 2nd event will be held on two separate days in October: Friday, October 3rd Open and Veterans combined Sunday, August 5th Cadet and Junior registration closes at 9:00am Y10 Y14, registration closes at 12:00pm (noon) Y12, registration closes at 3:00pm The Cadet/Junior and the Open/Veteran categories will be fenced as combined events; however, points will be awarded separately in individual categories. Doors will open one hour before event start times. The entry fee for each event will be $10, and will be used to pay for a Champions' banner. Extra money will be used to fund fencing gift cards that will be awarded to winners of the individual events! How the Championships work: There will be 6 events throughout the year (approximately one every even month). Based on how many people are at each event, and how well you place, you will earn points that last the whole season. There are several points categories: Y10, Y12, Y14, 16&Under, 19&Under, Open, and Veteran. Each of these categories will have both a men's and women's champion. If you have the highest number of points in your category at the end of the season, you will be the club champion and your name will go on the wall! We are also adding two new rules this year. First, only your top 4 results will count. This means that even if you miss 2 events, you can still win! Or, even better, come to all 6 to give yourself the best chance possible! Secondly, you must come to at least 2 events to be in the running. Club info We will be fencing on grounded strips running Virtual Scoring Machines.
