2014 Oklahoma Division Championships

Please join us for the 2014 Oklahoma Division Championships, May 16-17, hosted by the Tulsa Fencing Club. For the first time, the Oklahoma Division is including Youth events in the Division Championship. Pre-registration opens April 15 and closes May 14th at midnight. Preregistration fee: $40, Event fee for mixed open only: $15. Event fee for Y10 and Y12 foil is waived. At-the-door registration is $60. The Tournament kicks off on Friday, May 16th, with Y10 (birth year 2003-2006) and Y12 (birth year 2001-2004), Foil only, with equipment check beginning at 5 pm. Y10 fencers must use #2 blades. The Y10 and Y12 events are limited to 12 entrants per event. Both events will begin at 6 pm. The Tournament continues on Saturday with the 8 am equipment check for our Mixed Open competitors (birth year 2000 or earlier). Foil registration closes at 9 am; Epee registration closes at 11 am, and Saber registration closes at noon. FOR ALL EVENTS: • This championship is a USFA sanctioned event, and all USFA rules will be enforced. • If you do not have a valid USFA competitive-level membership (required), you may purchase one at the event. • Regulation fencing pants are mandatory. • There must be a minimum of six competitors per event. • Each competitor must have two working weapons and appropriate cords. • Equipment check will include masks, gloves, lames. • Weapons will be checked on strip (remember, #2 blades for Y10). • There will be a fence-off for third place. • Medals will be awarded to first through eighth place. • Division championship trophies will be exchanged. There’s plenty of room for spectators to sit and watch the tournament, so bring your family and friends along. Location, location, location! Tulsa Fencing Club fences at Southminster Presbyterian Church’s Community Center, 3500 S. Peoria. The Community Center is located to the south of the main church.
