RFC Foil/Sabre Challenge

December edition of a monthly, in-house foil & sabre tournament at RFC. This event is mostly for competitive development of our young fencers in level one and two. Many of our fencers are non-rated.
There will be a foil & sabre tournament every month at the Rochester Fencing Club during the 2012-2013 season. Entry fee is $20. Intended for unrated fencers with one or more years of experience, e.g. RFC Level 1 & Level 2. One or two rounds of pools (depending on number of participants) followed by direct elimination rounds. Bouts in the direct elimination round are 8 touches with two 2-minute periods. Fence off for every place. A LOT OF FENCING! Points for placing in these events will be awarded as follows: 1st place = 15 points 2nd place = 14 points 3rd place = 13 points etc.(If there are fewer than 16 participants, subtract 5 points for each place.) You can earn prizes and galaxy-wide bragging rights by compiling big point totals.
