This Junior Olympic qualification tournament is open only to members of the New Jersey Division. Automatic qualifiers compete for free. Auto qualifiers must email the organizer for approval.

This tournament is for New Jersey Division fencers attempting to qualify for the Junior Olympics in the Under-17 age group. Fencers must be US citizens or possess a green card. Fencers must be born in 1995 through 1998. A fencer born after 1998 can fence in the Cadet(Under-17) Junior Olympic Championships qualifying round, IF the fencer is on the National Youth 14 point standings at the time of the entry deadline for that tournament. Electrified foil bibs are not required for this qualification event. They will be required at the national JOs. Fencers who are automatic qualifiers can fence for FREE in this tournament. If you auto qualify, pre-register for your event and email the organizer for confirmation. Here are the requirements to be an auto qualifier: To auto qualify, Under-17(Cadet) fencers must meet age eligibility and be on the Cadet NRPS at the time of the fencer's Division Under-17 J.O. qualifying competition OR by Board action, any U17 fencer who has qualified for the Under-20 JO Championships becomes an automatic qualifier for the Under-17 Championships. Tournament registration fee is $10. Regular price entry at $30 per event closes Friday, November 18. Penalty fee registration at $70 per event closes Thursday, November 24. All unpaid registrations will be deleted at midnight, Thursday, November 24. NO REFUNDS AFTER November 24, 2011. Medals will be awarded for 1st through 8th place for each event. Format and Sanctioning: This tournament is sanctioned by the New Jersey Division of the USFA. The format for each event consists of a round of pools with the top 80% promoted to the direct elimination round. There is no fence-off for third place, if there are at least 13 fencers in the event. All fencers are required to comply with the USFA standards for uniforms and equipment. Each fencer should bring at least two functional weapons and body cords that meet USFA requirements. There are no exceptions to the attire and equipment rules. You must have a current USFA membership or join the USFA at the event. You must show your USFA card or have proof that payment has been made.
