Alice B Memorial (ROC)

Regular registration extended to December 1, 2010 The Alice B Memorial is a USFA Regional Open Circuit sponsored by Bayou City Fencing Academy. Top 10% (minimum of 4) in each DIV II event qualify for DIV II at 2011 Summer Nationals. Fencers Qualifying for DIV II through the ROC who are eligible to fence DIV III can also qualify through DIV II events. SPECIAL AWARD A $300 cash prize will be given to the club that has the most fencers participating in the Alice B. Memorial. Novice Fencers are fencers that have been fencing less than one year. Fees $25 per Event through 12/01/10 $50 per event after 12/01/10 FORMAT INFORMATION One round of 5-touch/3 minute bout pools. 100% advance to 15-touch direct elimination rounds. EQUIPMENT All weapons will be scored electrically. Equipment (masks, lames, and electric cords) will be inspected and marked. USFA Membership Current competitive membership of the USFA required (except for Novice events). Membership forms will be available at the venue. If your membership is not pre-validated, you must be prepared to show proof of USFA membership, or at the door, fill out a membership form and pay $60 - check or credit card. Persons under age 18 MUST have a parent's signature on the USFA form. Waiver of Liability ***All participants must sign a Waiver of Liability form which can be found on the Gulf Coast Division Website. Fencers under age 18 must have a parent's signature on this form. The Fencing Store (located within the venue) is fully a equipped fencing store with full lines of equipment, t-shirts, tools, fencing shoes, fencing novelties, etc. AIRPORTS There are two airports in the Houston area: Intercontinental (IAH) approximately 50 minutes from the venue Hobby (HOU) approximately 30 minutes from the venue.
