THE COBRA OPEN - ALL WEAPONS
Open to any USFA member born 1998 or before, or on the Junior Points List. This is a New Jersey Cup Tournament. All Open tournaments sanctioned by the New Jersey Division through May 31, 2012 are NJ Cup point events. Events are open to all USFA members (not limited to NJ Division members). The New Jersey Division will be reimbursing the winner of the 2011-12 New Jersey Senior Cups $250 for travel to the 2012 Summer Nationals. The runner-up will earn $100 reimbursement. Awards are presented at the NJ Div Annual Meeting(June/July). Points can be followed on FRED (Click "Results" heading).
ENTRY
** Liability waiver - Upon entering this tournament you agree to abide by the current rules of the USFA and other applicable rules instituted by Cobra Fencing Club. You acknowledge you are entering this tournament at your own risk and release the USFA and its sponsors, Cobra Fencing Club, and referees from any liability. With entry you give consent to Cobra Fencing Club to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for any injury or illness that may arise during activities associated with this tournament. Photography, filming, recording, or any other form of media of the athlete during the tournament can be used by Cobra Fencing Club and the USFA. Those wishing to opt out of media coverage must inform the Bout Committee.**
- Born 1998 or before,or on Junior NRP List. Fencers born after 1998 can compete if on Junior NRP point standings. If your entry is rejected for age, contact us and we will handle registration.
- USFA or other foreign federation membership required. You may join/renew USFA at the door(parent signature required if under 18) (USFA adds $10 fee for paper processing). USFA membership forms can be downloaded at http://usfencing.org/us-fencing-membership,or plan to come early to complete required paperwork. Fencers without proof of USFA or other federation membership must complete and pay for USFA membership. Checks for USFA membership must be made out to "USFA" or use credit card.

- USFA rules apply.
- Full USFA regulation uniform required.
- Must have at least two working weapons and two body cords.
FEES
- Registered AND Paid on-line -$35 per event. On-line registration/payment closes Oct 8. If you prefer to pay by check rather than on-line through FRED, e-mail the organizer for mailing instructions
- On event day registered but not paid - $55 per event (payment at door). Unpaid fencers will be notified via the FRED e-mail system.
- Walk-in (without preregistration) -$55 per event (payment at door)
- Payments made at the door must be in cash or check only. Checks payble to "Cobra Fencing Club." CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

FORMAT
- Seeding: USFA Senior NRP ranking, then letter ranking with year classification.
- Only official USFA ratings will be used.
- Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately. Fencer signature on pool score sheets and DE bout slip implies accuracy.
- Pools: One round of 5-touch/3 minute bouts. 100% advance to direct elimination rounds.
- Direct Elimination: 15 touch/9-minute bouts.
- No fence-off for third place. Medals awarded to Top 3.

From Manhattan by train: PATH train from Manhattan to Hoboken. The walk would be about 20 minutes. Taxis available in Hoboken (appx 4 minute ride to Cobra). Have the cab take Observer Highway West and turn left on Grove St. The Lackawanna Warehouse is on the right-hand side between 18th and 16th St.
