Western WA Foil & Epee Challenge Series Finale

Western Washington Foil & Epee Challenge Series #3 at Rain City Fencing Center Salle Auriol Seattle and Rain City Fencing Center are once again pleased to announce the Western Washington Foil & Epee Challenge. There will be medals plus trophies for the best 4 of 6 results in several categories. This event is the last in the series, rescheduled from February due to weather. ------------------ Important Info: ------------------- Tournament: Western Washington Foil & Epee Challenge Series #3 Date(s): 06/22/2019 Location: Rain City Fencing Center 9:30 AM - Doors open 10:00 AM - Mixed Foil 1:00 PM - Mixed Epee Times listed are close of registration. Fencing will begin shortly thereafter. Additional Information: This will be a "best 4 of 6 series". Tournaments will be held on the following dates: December 22nd - RCFC (aka "Home for the Holidays Open") January 20th - SAS February 9th - RCFC (CANCELLED) March 17th - SAS April 21st - SAS May 18th/19th - RCFC (aka "Rain City Open") June 22nd - RCFC Each tournament will stand on its own. Medals for the top 4 in each tournament will be awarded. At the end of the season, trophies will be awarded in several categories to the top fencers who fenced at least 4 events. Prices: $20 per event, or $95 for the entire series of six plus a T-shirt. Current (2018-2019) USA Fencing competitive membership is required. Please join or renew your membership online at https://member.usafencing.org/ before the tournament. Foreign fencers need to sign up for a free Foreign Fencer membership. Full regulation uniform, including underarm protector, fencing pants and long socks, is required. Also make sure your weapons will pass the weight test on the strip! All foil fencers at all competition levels must have masks with conductive bibs. RCFC has electric foil masks, mask cords, and retrofit kits for BG "Olympic" masks available for sale. Foil fencers who wear a hard plastic chest protector must wear a new FIE-approved padded protector. Hard plastic chest protectors are still required for women and optional for men. Epee fencers may not use foil masks, since the conductive bib can ground out the opponent's point. Format is one round of pools, 100% promotion to direct elimination.
