CHICAGO RYC 2017 hosted by FCC

Welcome to the 2017 Regional Youth Circuit tournament hosted by Fencing Center of Chicago! Fees: $30 Registration fee (per fencer - non-refundable), plus $25 per event fenced. A $10 late fee will be charged for on-site registration. Please note: if you do not register on time, you might not be able to compete as the numbers of referees is planned by current registrations. Food : There are plenty of restaurants, fast food spots, coffee shops and more within walking distance from the venue. We are at the heart of Park Ridge downtown! US Fencing membership required (may sign up at the tournament). Full fencing uniform will be required. Y10 events must use #2 blades. UPDATED USFA RYC RULES: 1) The Y10 and Y12 events at SN this season will be National Championships. The Y10 path remains participation in an RYC = qualification. For Y12, the RYC path is the top 50% of the fencers on their Regions point standings will qualify. Foreign Fencers will be skipped and the next eligible fencer will qualify as these events are now National Championships. The SYC/NAC NRPS points path remains the same. 3) The winner of a Y14 RYC will NO longer earn automatic qualification to SNs. Rather, at the end of the season, the top 25% on each region's list will qualify. The SYC/NAC NRPS path remains the same and the division qualifiers for Y14 are still in place. Events will be mixed if there are fewer than 5 fencers in any gender for that age/weapon. Please arrive in enough time to warm up and check equipment and be ready to fence at close of registration. Qualification Path to USA Fencing National Championships Youth 10 Championships - New paths Fencers must meet age eligibility above AND • Be on their region’s Y10 Regional Youth point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be on the Youth 10 national point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be in the top 65% of your region's Y12 Regional Youth point standing (if age eligible) by the regular entry fee deadline of the 2017 USA Fencing Championships. Youth 12 Championships – New paths Fencers must meet age eligibility above AND • Be in the top 65% of their region’s Y12 Regional Youth point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be in the top 30% of their region’s Y14 Regional Youth point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be on the Youth 12 National Point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for Be in the top 65% of their region’s Y12 Regional Youth point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be in the top 8 of the Youth10 National Point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for the 2017 USA Fencing Championships. Youth 14 Championships – New Paths Fencers must meet age eligibility above AND • Be on the Youth14 National Point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be in the top 30% of their region’s Y14 Regional Youth point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Be in the top 16 of the Youth12 National Point standings by the regular fee entry deadline for 2017 USA Fencing Championships OR • Place in the top 25% of the fencer’s Division’s Youth 14 qualifying competition held in the current season. Preregistration opens on 01/04/2017. Preregistration closes on 03/11/2017.
