The 2015 Battle in Seattle Division I-A ROC

The USFA Western Washington Division presents The Battle in Seattle January 23-25, 2015 at Rain City Fencing Center in Bellevue, WA The Battle in Seattle is traditionally one of the Western Washington Division's largest annual events, drawing top fencers from all over the Pacific Northwest. This year, the Battle in Seattle is again part of the Regional Open Circuit (ROC). The top 32 finishers in the senior events will earn Division IA ROC points toward Summer Nationals qualification. Veteran fencers that compete in the senior events will automatically qualify for the corresponding veteran event at Summer Nationals. Competing in the veteran events on Friday evening WILL NOT qualify you for Summer Nationals. ---------- Schedule ---------- Friday 1/23/15: 5:00 pm - Doors open 6:00 pm - All Veteran Events Saturday 1/24/15: 7:00 am -- Doors open 8:00 am -- Senior Women's Foil & Senior Men's Saber 12 noon -- Senior Men's Epee Sunday 1/25/15: 7:00 am -- Doors open 8:00 am -- Senior Men's Foil 12 noon -- Senior Women's Epee 2:00 pm -- Senior Women's Saber All times are close of registration. Arrive early to get your equipment checked! We will be running on a strict schedule so your promptness is appreciated. Fencers may NOT fence in two simultaneous events without the prior permission from the bout committee. All events will be fenced as a single round of pools, 100% promoted to direct-elimination, no fence-off for third. Prizes will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in the senior events, and top 4 in the veteran events. ---------- Registration Information ---------- Registration fees will vary depending on when you make your payment: Before 11:59pm PST on Sunday January 18, 2015: - $30 registration fee - $30 per senior event - $20 per veteran event After January 18, 2015: - $60 registration fee - $60 per senior event - $40 per veteran event All tournament fees must be pre-paid on AskFRED (*see note below). You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. Foreign fencers must be members of their nation's fencing association or possess an FIE license. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Names are NOT required on fencer uniforms. USFA rules require that all participants were born in 2001 or earlier. The veteran events are open to all fencers born in 1974 or earlier. ---------- Equipment Check ---------- Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks.
