New England Division USFA (NEUSFA) will hold the 26th Annual Pomme de Terre fencing tournament at Brandeis University on June 14 & June 15, 2014. Host hotel information is as follows: Holiday Inn Express 385 Winter St Waltham, MA 02451 781 890 2800 $105/night including breakfast. Please ask for "Boston Fencing” to receive the discounted rate. If guests require any special room accommodations, they must be stated at the time of making their reservation. The group discount will be available until Monday, May 15, 2014. After that, rooms will be released and the group discount will no longer apply. REMINDER: Event Restrictions: You may fence in only one individual event and/or one team event per day. If you are in both an individual and team event on the same day, you MUST present yourself at the appropriate strip when called. Team events may not be fenced out of order. FORMAT: E and Under is 100% promotion from pools to Direct Elimination. Opens are 80% promotion from pools to Direct Elimination. COST Individual Events Registration Fee (per fencer): - thru May 31: $30.00 - June 1 - June 8: $60.00 - June 9 - June 15 (including walkin) 90.00 Entry Fees (per event): - thru May 31: $40.00 - June 1 - June 8: $80.00 - June 9 - June 15 (including walkin) $120.00 REFUNDS - For refund of event fee(s), withdrawals must be received in writing no later than June 4, 2014. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Absolutely no refunds after June 4. Refunds will be processed no later than 4-6 weeks following the tournament. We are not responsible for any askfred website outages and will not make fee adjustments for this reason. Please register in a timely manner to avoid any payment issues on askfred. Payment is required with registration; unpaid preregistrations will be periodically deleted. To receive a free t-shirt and avoid late registration fees, you must register by Saturday May 31. Registering early helps us to ensure that we have enough qualified referees for this tournament. Please help us and avoid late fees by registering early! Team Events - Individual medals to top 3 teams. $75 per team event. Team registration closes on May 31, 2014. Payment is required with registration; unpaid preregistrations will be periodically deleted. Your team roster does not need to be finalized by the registration deadline, but we request that you provide this information before the event. Weapons Check: Friday 4 - 6 pm Saturday 7 am - end of tournament Sunday 7 am - end of tournament If you are only fencing on Sunday you are encouraged to have your weapons checked on Saturday; please come after 1PM for weapons being checked for Sunday. ELIGIBILITY Birth year 2000 or earlier. In any tournament where children can fence with adults, the fencer must be 13 by January 1 of the competition season (August - July). All fencers must be a member of the USFA or of the fencing federation of their country (e.g., the CFF) Please bring current membership. Checkin will be scanned and you will need your card. If you intend to join the USFA specifically to participate in this event, it is best to bring your paperwork and join when you check-in. You must have a competitive membership for this event. Canadian fencers: We are aware that the CFF no longer provides you with a 'passport' or other proof of membership. We will use the CFF website to validate your membership when you register.
