The CNP Unified Summer Intensive Fencing Clinic 2014 Sponsored by the Nyack Fencing Academy, Candlewood Fencing Center, and the Phoenix Center. We will cap the camp at 96 Fencers and only those who have made the $400 deposit will be guaranteed a spot. The CNP Summer Intensive camp focuses exclusively on advancing the skills of its participants in their specialized weapon (Foil, Epee, or Saber). The program provides individualized instruction, tactical group classes, supervised round-robin fencing, and conditioning combined with a unique opportunity to enjoy many of the activities associated with vacationing. Including: Movie nights Olympic sized swimming pool Outdoor sports (soccer, football, frisbee, tennis courts etc…) Coaches Include John Scarpino – Owner and Founder Nyack Fencing Academy (Foil) Brando Messinese – Italian Fencing Master (Foil) Tom Ciccarone – Former Head Coach Sacred Heart University (Foil) Eric Soyka – Assistant Coach Vassar College (Epee) Matt Zich – 3 Time US World Saber Team Member (Sabre) Marty Williams – Olympic Hopeful & International Coach (Sabre) Jeremy Goun – US Coach & Fencer (Foil) Attila Lukacs – Multiple Time Hungarian National Champion & Coach (Epee) Tyler Overk – Coach of Multiple National Medalists (Epee) Dennis Kolakowski – International Coach and Referee (Sabre) PROGRAM Double sessions are held daily, except for opening and closing dates: Morning fencing sessions will include free fencing, group technical and tactical drills, individual lessons and lectures on such topics as goal setting, conditioning and competition mindset Afternoon conditioning sessions will include cross-training and sports ranging from soccer, volleyball, swimming, football, basketball, and more. A camp competition is scheduled for the last day of camp An excellent camper-student/instructor ratio is maintained to provide individual coaching for each camper. FACILITIES The Peddie School – An innovative private school known for its educational excellence and striking architectural design. We will have the 15,000 sq ft Field House for fencing and use of the entire schools amenities throughout the camp. Dormitories are all fully air conditioned and we have 4 different housing locations on campus that will allow us to separate the campers by gender and age group. CAMPERS The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 10-17 with fencing experiences that range from novice to nationally ranked fencers. There will be both male and female supervision 24 hours day for all the campers. Sleep Away COST – $900 covers the camp program, housing, meals, and all other activities. Campers will also receive a commemorative tote bag,t-shirt, hoodie, water bottle and memories to last a lifetime.
