THE SPORT OF FENCING
Fencing, the Art of Swordsmanship, has been practiced for centuries. First, it was to train for deadly combat - the duel. Now, it is is for Olympic Gold. Through fencing you can acquire the reflexes of a boxer, the legs of a high-jumper and the concentration of a master chess player. The Sport of Fencing develops agility, strength, speed, and intelligence. And because of the speed of its action, fencing is considered the fastest martial art.
But most importantly, it’s fun!
"LEARN-TO-FENCE" CAMP
Cutting Edge Fencing offers instruction in the Sport of Fencing for ages 8 and up. Highly trained, skilled instructors will work with your child in a dynamic group environment.
The following is just a glimpse of what your child will experience in our exciting Learn-to-Fence Camp:
History of Fencing
Training Exercises to increase fitness, flexibility and overall health
Fencing Fundamentals
Rules: "Right of Way"
Individual and Group exercises and games
*Please wear sweatpants, t-shirt and athletic shoes. Bring a snack each day, and water-bottle/sport drinks. Bottled water and sports drinks available for purchase.
Please fill out the registration form and waiver and bring it with you the first day of camp.
Camp Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 11:00 am.
Camp Fees: $95 registration + $ 15 Glove fee (you get to keep it!)
Optional Camp T-shirt: $15.
THE CENTER
Cutting Edge Fencing Center serves the Tarrant County area and is dedicated to teaching the Sport of Fencing to persons of all ages and backgrounds. From beginners to the competitive athlete, we serve everyone with equal parts integrity, skill and attention. We pride ourselves on teaching the fundamentals of fencing to our students as an opportunity for them to enjoy the sport recreationally and competitively. Our experienced coaching staff aims to provide nothing less than an exceptional educational and sporting experience.
DIRECTIONS
From NE Loop 820, take the Rufe Snow exit and then go North 1/2 mile.
Cutting Edge Fencing is in the Hilltop Square shopping center next to Monarch Dental, and across the street from CiCi’s Pizza.
