All AGES GRAFA FOIL Camp with Notre Dame Coach Gia Kvaratskhelia
Gia Kvaratskhelia, Notre Dame Fencing Coach, who lead Notre Dame fencing squad to NCAA Champions 2011 will be participating in this camp
This camp is the first of four cumulative camps to be held at Grand Rapids Fencing Academy during the 2012-2013 fencing season. Each camp will continue to build on the knowledge of the previous sessions. Designed for the intermediate and advanced fencer, it will focus on the preparation of youth fencers for the 2013 Summer Nationals; specifically, extensive training exercises, footwork and advanced strategy.
Maestros Mikhail and Arkadiy Sarkisov, the head coaches of GRAFA, will be the instructors. Both Maestros hold a BS degree in Physical Education from Russian University and a Master’s degree in Fencing. They were Gold Medallists of the Soviet Union in 1985, medallists at the USSR Nationals from 1986-1989 and finalists at the World Cup and Student World Game competitions. In 2005 Maestro Mikhail Sarkisov has been recognized by US Olympic Committee as Developmental Coach of the Year.
Many of his students successfully compete on National and International levels. Mikhail and Arkadiy have been developing fencing in the Grand Rapids Metro area since 1993.
We invite fencers ages 20 und under to join. Fencers will be divided into two age groups: 15-20, and 14 and under, or by fencing experience. Students should have a minimum of 1 year fencing experience. The camp will be limited to 30 students. Host families of members of Grand Rapids Fencing Academy will provide accommodations and meals.
Tuition:
$200.00 with accommodation and meals
$180.00 without accommodation and meals. (Lunch provided every day)

Registration Deadline: The registration deadline is September 13, 2012. Non refundable deposit of $100 is required at the time of registration to reserve the spot in the camp.
Note: The camp participants must have electrical equipment and at least 2 working weapons.

1:30PM- 2:15 PM Lunch
2:15PM- 3:45PM Conditioning, footwork, theory, strategy drills.
3:45-4:00PM Social this time fencers must be picked up by their parents.
4 PM: GRAFA closed
