Details:
This is the first of the 10 coaching Development clinics (not NCCP Aide Moniteur Clinic) from now to end of the June. The first one starts at 10 am and end at 2 pm. The others will be from 1 pm to 5 pm on the following Saturday: April 7, 21, May 12, 26, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
The coaching clinic is structured around the Saturday Group Training by Peter Ho, the Provincial Epee Coach and Learning Facilitator Aide Moniteur. The Saturday Group training was well attended by youth fencers from clubs around the GTA area.
Format:
Coaches will get guidance from Peter to run the following practice.
2 hours of group practice which may include warm up, footwork drill, pair blade work, line lesson, rules & regulation, sports science, sport medicine, armory....etc.
2 hours of structured electric fencing practice which may have Pools, Table to every position, team events, bout observation and analysis, tactical advice, mental training, refereeing, video analysis
Role of coaches:
Coaches may required to run group practice, line lesson, footwork drill, individual lesson to other fencers, take video, side coaching during fencing, teach equipment repair, lead warm up games and cool down exercise, fitness testing....
Technical Component:
Technical skill up to Blue Armband level will be cover in the 10 weeks clinic.
Written Component:
It will cover Annual Training Plan, Competition selection, post competition report, concentration testing, rule & regulation testing.
Coach Fee:
Free for coaches who bring one or more students with them
($5 back to coach for each student they bring to the training)
$25 for those who don't have a student.
Fencers fee:
$10 for TFC full members & $25 for other.
